SVSQUARE 2013

Objective:

Objective of the campaign is to encourage the youth to develop their innovative taught and visions.

About:

SVSquare [1] is a visionary effort on the part of the Government to equip our student entrepreneurs with the right exposure by sending 5 students nominated by Startup Village to Silicon Valley. This is in continuation of the announcement by the CM while he visited Startup Village and the subsequent Government order in this regard. SVSquare will be a yearly initiative that will increase the synergy between the Silicon Valley and Startup Village and truly put Startup Village and Kerala on the global entrepreneurial map.

The state government supported initiative is also jointly supported by Ms. Asha Jadeja (A Silicon Valley serial investor also founder and director of Jadeja Motwani Foundation) and was officially launched on 30 January 2013. The campaign aimed to arrive at 5 bright students with innovative entrepreneurial caliber and provide an opportunity to experience first hand the cradle of the tech revolution with an all-expenses paid trip to the Silicon Valley.

All expenses for the trip will be borne by the Kerala State government. After effective campaign and evangelizing across various professional colleges in the State, 5 candidates were shortlisted by the selection committee comprising of a committee co-chaired by Prof. Anil Gupta (IIMA Professor) from the Academia and Kiran Karnik (Former President of NASSCOM) from the Industry. Both of them are members of the National Innovation Council.

SV Square 2012

The visit was a two-week immersion program, commenced on Dec 4th till Dec 18th, where the selected 5 students were given first hand experience about the valley, its culture, code and conduct. The students to experience this event were:

SV Square 2014

SVSquare 2014 is planned to take place during the month of July or August 2014, in regard to the feedback collected from previous years application procedures and process, svsquare 2014 will have early bird registrations and the campaign for the same are scheduled to happen at over 100 colleges across the state.
